    You have probably noticed that in regards to bike component color choice 8 time out of 10 this will be Black or Silver. Here is my little example how it is relatively easy to give almost any color to your favorite bicycle component. I mind you –  this is possible only to the components that are not exposed to the direct physical wear and tear. Like hubs. Or..  Dynamo Hubs in this particular case.   • Building E-bike wheel

    Took on this project out of curiosity. Originally the electric hub/motor came with a 700C wheel. After some usage wheel went out of true and got damaged.  This is when wheel owner needed to  build it a new. This time lacing it on 26″ rim (Sun Rhyno Lyte) also using new Sapim Strong spokes (2.3 – 2.0 mm). Pretty strong wheel isn’t? Little challenge was coming from a very wide hub flange diameter. It meant two things – spokes will have an extreme angle at the rim holes point, also it was tricky to measure what length spokes should be. Having said that the wheel did turne out well. Here…

  • Surly Pugsley rear wheel build pics

    I shall make this blog inspiring by posting pictures about the rear wheel built for my Puglsley. I shall share the component specifications for that build: Surley Rabbit Hole 32H silver rim. Shimano Alfine 8spd internal gear hub. Older version – SG-S500. Wheelsmith DB-14 silver spokes. Drive side: 283mm; Non drive side: 280mm; Due to the offset rear dropouts wheel needs to be dished by ~17.5mm in order to have rear chain cog away from rubbing the tire simultaneously having both wheels in the same line.
